You know, this cubes animation makes me anxious.
Hmmm... cellular automata make you anxious? Perhaps the rapid lifecycle of these cubic creatures connects in some way with your own feelings mortality? Plus, I'll grant that the orbiting camera is dizzying and disorienting in its own right.
